Re-contextualizing media content was a method used to create this poster set on gang violence. The movie, RIZE, chronicles a dance movement in South Central L.A. By appropriating some of the dance sequences, however, the dancers are reinterpreted as gang members. To enhance the theme of gang violence, signifiers such as color, bandana ornaments, and spray painted Blackletter were used. A sense of conflict is heightened by the scale of the figures and the relationship between each poster.
